It's not paper piercing....

I stumbled across this week's Whiff of Joy challenge and thought that I might give it a go.  I mistakenly thought that it was paper piercing and because I didn't know what that involved I searched the net for some tips - found out that I'd misread the title and its not piercing its piecing (yes, my single brain cell is lonely).
Anyway, this is the card that I've made for the challenge

I have to admit that I found it a nice change not to have to colour the whole image and I really love the shabby chic feel that the paper gives to her dress and hat.  The stamp that I've used is a Christmas image really, but I love her so much that I simply left off the Christmas tree and disguised the holly on her hat with gems and I think that she now looks quite spring-like.  It's also the first time that I've used my glossy accents pen and to be honest I love it so much that I really had to rein myself in otherwise the whole card would have been shiny!!!  (Shame that it doesn't really show up on the photo tho)

The materials I've used are:
Whiff of joy stamp - Ura with bird
Papers from Papermania - Rose Garden
Ticket stamps/die - Whimsy Stamps
Flowers, pearls, bow & pin from stash

The layout that I've used is from this week's IC Sketches challenge #102

I've incorporated the sketch with the WOJ one so that I can enter the card for both challenges, see I am learning LOL x
